How do I sign up and get a lifetime recording number for my horse?

WDAA Horse Performance & Awards Program details page provides the information necessary to understand the program. Fill out and submit the WDAA Lifetime Enrollment Form with the one-time $100 initial enrollment fee. WDAA will issue you horse a lifetime recorded number.

How do I submit my test scores and/or class placings?

Every year that your horse will be competing, you will submit an Annual Recording form with the $50 annual fee.

Then fill out the Western Dressage Test & Class submission form for one horse and rider combination. Test Scores & Class Placings must be submitted within 30 days after the show date.

What are the award levels?

Available Awards below:

  • WDAA Register Of Merit is awarded when the horse has earned 35 points
  • WDAA Register Of Achievement is awarded when the horse has earned 100 points
  • WDAA Register Of Excellence is awarded when the horse has earned 200 points
  • WDAA Bronze Medalist is awarded when the horse has earned 300 points with at least 5 tests submitted riding Level 1 or higher
  • WDAA Silver Medalist is awarded when the horse has earned 400 points with at least 5 tests submitted riding Level 2 or higher
  • WDAA Gold Medalist is awarded when the horse has earned 500 points with at least 5 tests submitted riding Level 3 or higher
  • WDAA Supreme Champion is awarded when the horse has earned 700 points with at least 5 tests submitted riding Level 4 or higher

What are the costs involved?

  • The lifetime enrollment is a one time fee of $100.
  • Annual recording submission is $50 due each year.
  • There is a point tracking fee of $10 for each test or class submission.

How are points tabulated?

Points will follow the recorded horse and may be earned with more than one rider. Open or print out the document below for details on how the points will be calculated for WDAA Tests and Rail Classes.

Why aren’t there rider awards as well?

Although WDAA may develop more award programs in the future, we wanted to start by honoring the horse. Lifetime Performance Awards are a wonderful way to recognize a horse’s accomplishments and add value to your horse.
